BANGALORE: Rail Wheel Factory defeated Indian Telephone Industries 4-2 in the State ‘A’ division league hockey tournament here on Monday.

Franklin (21st), Arun Ravi (30th), Sriram (45th) and Jayaraj (58th) scored for RWF, while Somaiah (19th) and Vinoba (57th) reduced the margin.

Earlier, Madras Engineering Group edged past Bharat Electronics Limited 4-3 with Stephen D’Souza (16th & 22nd), Kalappa (19th) and Kiran (35th) scoring for MEG. Aiyappa (30th & 60th) and Pramod (31st) scored for the loser.

In the third match, Army Service Corps and Postal played out a 1-1 draw. Chandan (7th) scored for ASC and Taranath (17th) scored for Postal.

JEM FC (Mangalore) and Kasba Brothers FC (Bengre) played a 1-1 draw in an ‘A’ division football league match at the Nehru Maidan in Mangalore on Monday.

Naushad put JEM ahead in the 20th minute of the first half. The Bengre side had to wait until the 13th minute of the second half to find the equaliser through Ashraf.

State-ranking junior tennis
