In the 54th minute, Jang Jong-Hyun’s powerful flick off a penalty corner found the target.
Earlier, Pakistan beat two-time winner Spain 2-0. Pakistan struck in the 56th minute when Waqas Sharif scored off a rebound.
Akhtar Ali made it 2-0 four minutes later when his powerful hit whizzed past goalkeeper Francisco Cortes.
Pakistan, which lost 5-2 to Germany in its opening match on Thursday, now has three points from two matches.
Spain had drawn 2-2 against South Korea on Thursday. Saturday is a rest day.
Defending champion Netherlands beat host Malaysia 3-1 in another match. Malaysia is yet to score a point.
Germany blanked Great Britain 4-0.
