NEW DELHI: The three-day National Conference on sports medicine, ‘Sportsmedcon 2007’, will be held at the SCOPE Convention Centre, CGO Complex, here from November 16 to 18.
Seven leading organisations in sports as well as in medicine, the Sports Authority of India , Indian Olympic Association, Indian Federation of Sports Medicine, Indian Medical Association, Organising Committee Commonwealth Games, Directorate of Health, Government of Delhi and the Services Sports Control Board, have joined hands to organise the event in order to give an impetus to the Commonwealth Games which is scheduled here in 2010.
The theme of Sportsmedcon has been aptly kept as "Sports medicine for drug free Commonwealth Games 2010".
In order to train doctors and physiotherapists for the Commonwealth Games and other sports events, two courses (a team physician’s course and a team physiotherapist’s course), are also being held on November 15 and 16.
Registration for Sportsmedcon is open to those working in the field of sports as well as to the medical and scientific fraternity.
Sports Medicine Centre, Sports Authority of India, JN Stadium, New Delhi is the nodal agency for the event.
