DHARAMSHALA: Play was called off without a ball being bowled after two spells of rain left the outfield wet on the second day of the second India ‘A’-South Africa ‘A’ Test match at the HPCA Stadium here on Thursday. When play ended on Wednesday, South Africa ‘A’ was 264 for four in its first innings.
Overnight rain had forced a delay to the scheduled start this morning. After the umpires Pratap Kumar and S. K. Tarapore inspected the pitch at 11 a.m. there was another cloudburst that ruled out any possibility of the commencement of play.
Officially, the play was called off at 1 p.m. following the formality of a second inspection. — Special Correspondent
