VIJAYAWADA: B. Nagaraju’s five for 29 helped reduce Prakasam to 90 for nine in 30 overs in reply to Guntur’s 193 in 54.1 overs at draw of stumps on the first day of the two-day Koka Ranga Rao memorial ACA Central Zone u-19 inter-district tournament here on Wednesday.

In another match, Krishna piled up 310 in 82 overs against West Godavari with P. Eswar (54), Krishna Teja (46), M. Vikas Babu (45) and N. Raj Kumar (42) doing the bulk of scoring.

The scores: Guntur 193 in 54.1 overs (A. Nagarjuna four for 38) vs. Prakasam 90 for nine in 30 overs (T. Venu 41 batting, B. Nagaraju five for 29); Krishna 310 in 82 overs (P. Eswar 54, B. Krishna Teja 46, M. Vikas Babu 45, N. Raj Kumar 42) vs. West Godavari 57 for three in 10 overs.

NZ triumphs

North Zone won the ACA inter-zonal u-22 tournament, which concluded at Venkatagiri (Nellore District) on Tuesday. North Zone garnered two points against South Zone by virtue of the first innings lead. The four-day selection tournament to pick the ACA u-22 team will begin from September 6 at Tarakarama Stadium at Venkatagiri.

The scores: North Zone 256 & 175 drew with South Zone 136.

Venue shifted

Senior inter-zonal tournament to select Andhra Ranji team for Venkatagiri Cup (four day) and T. Rattaiah Cup (one-day) scheduled to be held at Visakhapatnam has been shifted to Kakinada (East Godavari) from September 18 to October 7, according to a release from Andhra Cricket Association here on Wednesday.

TT tournament

Andhra Pradesh Table Tennis Association (APTTA) will conduct the Dargapentappa memorial State-ranking tournament at Indoor stadium, GHMC Victoria playgrounds at Chadarghat, Hyderabad, from September 16 to 19. The tournament will be held for all age categories, according to APTTA secretary S.M. Sultan.

U-17 cricket trials
