NEW DELHI: Dutch coach, Herman Kruis, who led Holland to the FIH indoor women’s hockey World Cup title early this year, has been appointed the chief coach of the Indian women’s team.

Kruis joined the team on Thursday in Lucknow where it is preparing for the sixth women’s Asia Cup to be held in Hong Kong in September 1 to 9. Kruis, who is the Executive Director of the Johan Cruyff College, coached the women’s team of the Hertogenbosch Club since 2000.

Under Kruis, Hertogenbosch won the Netherlands’ National championship for seven consecutive years. — Principal Correspondent
