DEHRADUN: Top-seeded Poojashree Venkatesh and the champion of last week — sixth-seeded Rushmi Chakravarthi — will fancy their chances of reaching the final of the ONGC $10,000 ITF women’s tennis tournament which will be held at the Shanti Academy here from Monday.
The Indian girls did well in the qualifying event and captured all the available slots. Nova Patel knocked out the semifinalist of the Delhi event — He Sirui of China — in straight sets in the second and final qualifying round, while Sheethal Goutham got past another Chinese, Zhang Nan Nan, in three sets.
