Chennai: An all-round effort by T.T. Sashank, who returned figures of four for 27 and later scored an unbeaten 46 helped Sir Sivasamy Kalalaya SSS defeat Marthoma MHSS by nine wickets in the TNCA city schools (under-15) cricket tournament here on Wednesday.

Marthoma MHSS 82 in 25.4 overs (T.T. Sashank four for 27) lost to Sir Sivasamy Kalalaya SSS 86 for one in 7.1 overs (T.T. Sashank 46 not out).

Kailasam-Suri pair wins

S. Kailasam and T.M. Suri won the T. Nagar Social Club Open pairs event with a score of 66.29 per cent sitting East-West.

R. Prahlad, a student of Maryland University in USA, and R.V. Subramanian won in the North-South position with a score of 64.20 per cent.

MSP boys triumph

M.S.P. (Dindigul) won the boys’ final of the Mrs. A.C. Krishna Rao Memorial State handball championship here on Tuesday, beating St. Peters (Royapuram, Chennai) 16-8.

In the girls’ final, Bhavan’s (Chennai) beat Jaigopal Garodia (Tambaram) 6-5.
