New Delhi: The Indian Women’s Hockey Federation (IWHF) has picked 36 probables for the 51-day camp that began on Sunday.

With the Sports Authority of India (SAI) rejecting their proposal for a camp in Bangalore, the IWHF decided to shift the venue to Lucknow.

The Indian team for the 2007 Asia Cup in Hong Kong from September 1 to 9 will be picked during the camp.

Also the IWHF will identify the second string that might play when India prepares for the Olympic qualifying tournaments to be held during April-May 2008 in Baku (Azerbaijan), Kazan (Russia) and Victoria (Canada).

The IWHF has, however, neglected seasoned goalkeeper Helen Mary and forward Sanggai Chanu. After the debacle in the World Cup last year, Sanggai has fallen out of favour.
