NEW DELHI: Sumit Nagal of Brilliant Academy asserted his potential by annexing four titles, in age groups ranging from under-10 to 14, in the Prime Tennis junior tournament that concluded at the Major Dhyan Chand Sports Complex, Ashok Vihar, on Sunday.
A trainee of coach Jitender Kumar Krishnatri, the young lad dropped only one set in all in capturing the three singles titles. Ketan Tayal stretched Sumit to three sets in the under-14 final but could not be as competitive in the under-12 final.
The energy and fitness level of the boy was commendable as he partnered Dhrug Goyal to clinch the doubles title as well.
In the girls section, Aashna Malhotra bagged two singles titles and finished runner-up in doubles.

Under-14: Sumit Nagal bt Ketan Tayal 6-3, 1-6, 6-3; Doubles: Sumit Nagal and Dhruv Goyal bt Divyansh Gusain and Parminder Singh 6-1, 6-1.
Under-12: Sumit Nagal bt Ketan Tayal 6-4, 6-4.
Under-10: Sumit Nagal bt Tejas Kapoor 6-2, 6-1.
Under-14: Aashna Malhotra bt Stuti Chhabra 6-2, 6-2; Doubles: Saumya Sanghi and Shreya Malhotra bt Aashna Malhotra and Diksha Aggarwal 6-1, 6-1.
Under-12: Aashna Malhotra bt Anukriti Chaudhary 6-4, 6-2.
Under-10: Shivya Sachdeva bt Jaya Bhandari 6-2, 6-2.
Mixed doubles: Saumya Sanghi and Parminder Singh bt Jaya Bhandari and Shivam Malhotra 6-2, 6-2.
Kids: 1.Naman Sharma, 2. Sanskar, 3. Lucky Sharma and 4. Aadya Gupta.
