Chennai: Tiruvallur and Kancheepuram entered the final of the S.S. Rajan inter-district cricket tournament on Tuesday.

While Tiruvallur defeated Vellore by five wickets, Kancheepuram beat Madurai by four wickets.

Off-spinners Shijit Chandran (four for 29) and J. Prashanth (three for 35) restricted Vellore to 207.

Then Prashanth 62 (96b, 4x4) and K. Shivakumar 68 not out (92b, 4x4) added 95 in 110 balls for the fifth wicket.

At Kancheepuram, V. Subramania Siva's 55 (inclusive of five sixes) went in vain for Madurai.

The scores: Semifinals: Vellore 207 in 48.4 overs (K.B. Arun Karthik 67, Shijit Chandran four for 29) lost to Tiruvallur 211 for five in 42.3 overs (Prashanth 62, K. Shivakumar 68 not out).

Madurai 159 in 31.3 overs (V. Subramania Siva 55) lost to Kancheepuram 160 for six in 38.4 overs.
