Orlando: Jeev Milkha Singh and Daniel Chopra had nightmarish starts to their campaign as they carded eight-over 78 each, to lie 118th in the field, at the Arnold Palmer Invitational golf tournament on Thursday.
Tiger Woods shot his best round of the year, a six-under 64, to share the lead with compatriot Vaughn Taylor and Paul Casey of England.
Ghei makes cut
At Sanya in China, Gaurav Ghei became the lone Indian to make the halfway cut at the extremely low-scoring TCL Classic golf tournament as leader Chapchai Nirat of Thailand gained a huge six-shot lead over five second-placed players at the Yalong Bay Golf Club. Ghei shot a second round of three-under 69 for a total of five-under 139, but that was enough to make the cut. Shiv Kapur played a fine round of four-under 68 but his bogeys on the tenth and 11th turned out to be costly as he totalled three-under 141 and missed the cut by two. PTI
