BANGALORE: The bonanza for Indian professional golfers continues with the fifth event of the Professional Golf Tour of India, the Solaris Global Green Open, at the Bangalore Golf course here from February 22 to 25.
A fairly strong field of National and international golfers will add prestige to the event which carries the biggest purse ever in a tournament in South India.
Some of the regulars on the Asian and Japanese tour including Rahil Gangjee, Zaw Moe, Lam Chih Bing, Ashok Kumar and Harmeet Kahlon will face off against Indian professionals like Uttam Singh Mundy, Mukesh Kumar, Vijay Kumar and the local professionals S. Madaiah and C. Muniyappa.
A line-up of 120 golfers will hit the greens from a two-tee start on Feb. 23. The tournament will be preceded by the Pro-Am on Feb. 22.
Shiv Kapur, fresh from a success in Djakarta, will play in the Pro-Am and also conduct a golf clinic after the event. Special Correspondent
