NEW DELHI: Saving his best for the last, Rashid Khan came up with a sterling display in the final round and defended the LG Northern India amateur golf title in style at the Delhi Golf Club course here on Friday.

Rashid, five strokes behind overnight leader Abhishek Jha, fired the tournament’s best six under 66 for a winning tally of 286.

Young Ankur Chadha, who caught up with Rashid after 11 holes, settled for the runner-up spot after Rashid finished with successive birdies. This was Rashid’s second title from four events this season, and sixth overall.

Abhishek, leading by a stroke at the start of the round, shot a poor 78 to finish third at 293, four strokes ahead of Ashbeer Saini.
