HYDERABAD: Kieron Pollard, the man of the match, reminded fans of the good old days of Calypso cricket, turning the match around for Trinidad & Tobago from a precarious position with some amazing stroke-play. Pollard carted Moises Henriques for two fours and three sixes in the 17th over to snatch the game away from New South Wales Blues in a Super Eight match of the Champions League Twenty20 championship at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium hereon Friday night.
Then in the 19th over, Pollard pulled Henriques to the fence and then lofted him over long-on for another huge six. The winning stroke — a six over long-off in the same over — was the icing on the cake as Trinidad pulled off a four-wicket win with Pollard remaining unbeaten on 54 (18 balls, 5x4, 5x6). Henriques had the ignominy of conceding 43 runs from the last nine balls of his spell.
