NEW DELHI: The 166 volunteers, who were engaged during the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) General Assembly, were praised by the chairman of the Organising Committee, Suresh Kalmadi. “We should be clapping for you. You did a great job. We have seen Manchester, Sydney and Melbourne Games volunteers but what we have seen in Delhi assures me that you will be the best. Keep it up,” said Kalmadi when he felicitated the volunteers with certificates and mementos here on Wednesday. The CGF President, Michael Fennell, was equally impressed and had appreciated the volunteers in his address to the media after the General Assembly. “The volunteer numbers would be growing from hundreds to thousands by next year. The volunteers involved in the General Assembly were appropriately trained, were working from their heart and were found to be sincere,” Fennel said. — Sports Reporter
