HYDERABAD: Defending champion, Andhra Pradesh, set up a title-clash with Karnataka in the 24th all-India postal volleyball tournament at the Lal Bahadur Stadium here on Sunday.

In the first semifinal, Andhra Pradesh defeated Kerala 25-19, 25-19, 25-20 while Karnataka got the better of Gujarat 25-21, 25-19, 25-19 in the other.

Hyderabad wins

Hyderabad defeated Lucknow 3-1 in the football preliminary round of the all-India Reserve Bank of India sports meet at Goshamahal Grounds here.

Earlier, Deepak Singhal, CGM, HRD (RBI), inaugurated the event. Arjuna Awardee Mohd Habeeb (football) and international badminton player Gutta Jwala were felicitated on the occasion.

J. Sai Agni Jeevetesh won the boys’ under-10 category of the Brilliant Trophy State open chess championship here.

K.V. Sai Kumar and M. Saritha won the sub-junior boys and girls’ singles titles respectively in the M. Chandra Sekhara Sarma memorial tennikoit tournament here.
