NEW DELHI: Top-seeded Yuki Bhambri lost 2-6, 3-6 to the eventual champion Alexander Domijan of the U.S. in the semifinals of the Eddie Herr ITF grade ‘I’ junior tennis tournament at Bradenton, U.S.

World No. 4 junior, Yuki had won four rounds against players from Russia, South Africa, France and Germany before losing steam in the semifinals against the American.

In the doubles also, Yuki in partnership with Alex Sanders of Australia lost 3-6, 2-6 to the eventual champions Devin Britton and Jarmere Jenkins of the US, in the semifinals.

The 16-year-old Yuki will be competing in the Orange Bowl ITF grade ‘A’ junior tennis championship at Key Biscayne, this week.

In the preview for Orange Bowl, considered as the next best only to the four Grand Slams, experts have analysed that the talented Yuki has a chance to finish the year as the World No.1 junior, by winning the prestigious event.

In an impressive season, Yuki had made the semifinals of the Australian Open and had won the Osaka Mayor’s Cup, another grade ‘A’ event, in Japan.
