Bridge players feted
Six Tamil Nadu players, K.R. Venkataraman (Open), Lakshmi Chari, Sherien Ryan (women), Prasanth Sriram, Guthi Rajaseka and Vinoth Kumar (junior), who have been selected to represent India at the World bridge championships to be held as part of the World Mind Sports Games in Beijing from October 4 to 18, were felicitated on Saturday by the Tamil Nadu Bridge Association.
Speaking at the event, TNBA secretary Sherien Ryan, who will be part of the Indian women’s team at the event, said that the TNBA expected a good showing from the Open team, especially since K.R. Venkataraman, along with Sunil Choksi of Ahmedabad, had recently won the Wegner Pair event at Las Vegas in July.
