MUMBAI: India’s young footballers, 16 in all trained in ‘The Arsenal Way’ by Paul Shipwright (Arsenal Soccer School) and Martin Davis (Arsenal FC Development Officer), will leave for the 18th Arsenal International Soccer Festival in London.
The India finalists, named the Tata Tea Arsenal Soccer Stars, were shortlisted after selection across India under guidance of Jamshed Nassiri, Head Talent Scout, and then put through a two-week training programme. Footballers in the 10-15 age group from 400 schools took part in a tournament, out of which 30 players were identified.

Kiran Kumar (St. Angels English HS, Bangalore), Shane Anthony (St. Britto HS, Goa), Sumit Das (Shyambazar AV School, Kolkata), Rickin Dang (Don Bosco HS, Mumbai), Jaksram Sangma (Edmunds School, Shillong). Mid-fielders: Daniel Lalhrwaitlwanga (Air Force School, New Delhi), Jitu Das (Basudevpur Pally Hitashdhani HS, Kolkata), Siddharth Singh (Cathedral and John Connon School, Mumbai), Yan Cheng Law (La Martiniere School for Boys, Kolkata), Mohd Jaffar Ali (Basudevpur Pally Hitashdhani HS, Kolkata).
