Bangalore: Combined City XI emerged champion in the Shafi Darashah Trophy tournament that concluded here on Tuesday.

In its last league match that concluded in a draw at the RSI Ground, V. Cheluvaraj’s 121 (129b, 17 x 4, 1 x 6) helped Combined City declare at 317 for seven and in reply, KSCA President’s XI scored 295 in 76.2 overs.

Combined City finished with seven points and was on par with KSCA XI but a better net run-rate and average, helped the team edge ahead.

The scores: Combined City XI 317 for seven decl. in 68 overs (V. Cheluvaraj 121, Sudhindra Shindhe 56, Vinu Narayan four for 99) drew with KSCA President’s XI 295 in 76.2 overs (Bharath Chipli 90, Nitin Bille 64, S.P. Manjunath 55, Sunil Raju four for 72).

Secretary’s XI 256 in 92.2 overs (Deepak Chougule 59, S.N. Amit 48) drew with KSCA XI 352 all out in 87.1 overs (Raju Bhatkal 102, Ganesh Satish 69, Gaurav Dhiman 65, Manish Pandey 57, S.L. Akshay four for 54).

Four-wicket win

Jyoti Kendriya Vidyalaya defeated ITI Vidyamandir by four wickets in a B.T. Ramaiah Shield under-15 tournament match here on Tuesday.

Tejas’s four for 19 helped Jyoti Kendriya Vidyalaya bowl out ITI for 94 in 28.5 overs. The team knocked off the required runs in 28 overs.

Jain College routs TTC

Jain College ‘B’ swamped TTC 8-0 in the KSHA inter-college hockey tournament here on Tuesday.

Sharath Somanna (7th & 12th) and Nikhil Thimmaiah (32nd & 42nd) scored a brace apiece while Shaan Bopaiah (19th), KC Subbaiah (27th), Rahul Katke (45th) and Aiyappa (48th) slotted home one each.

In another match, Al Ameen beat Kendriya Vidyalaya (DRDO) 6-1. Nischith (1st), Sudhakara (2nd & 21st), Sachin (7th) and Sahadev (28th & 41st) scored for the winner and Danish (9th) scored for the loser.

In the T Shanmugham memorial inter-school hockey tournament, Frank Anthony Public School beat Florence High School 4-0. Khalin Joshi (38th & 47th) scored a double and Joel Koshy (16th) and Alister Taylor (56th) added to the tally.
