THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Coastal Club and Black Arrows played out a goalless draw in the Thiruvananthapuram district super division football league at the Chandrashekaran Nair stadium here on Tuesday.

Both teams ended their league engagements with four points each from six matches.

Wednesday’s fixture between State Bank of Travancore and Travancore Titanium will decide the winner of the league. SBT is leading the table with 15 points from five games.

Titanium has 13 from the same number of matches. SBT needs only a draw to retain the title.

Padmanabhan wins

T. Padmanabhan and Surya Krishnamoorthy won the men’s and women’s titles in the district-level carom tournament, organised by Brahmana Sabha, here on Tuesday.

Sub-junior chess

The Ernakulam District sub-junior chess championship (boys and girls u-15) will be held at the Cochin University’s SMS Hall, Kalamassery, on August 2 and 3.

Interested players are to report at the venue with proof of age at 9.30 a.m. on the opening day.

Champions Trophy

The ninth Kerala State inter-club Champions Trophy basketball championships will be held at the Prof. Joseph Mundassery HS ground, Kandasankadavu, Thiruvananthapuram from September 5 to 10. The winners in this tournament will represent Kerala at the Federation Cup. Central Excise and KSEB are the defending champions in the men’s and women’s sections respectively.
