HYDERABAD: Andhra Cricket Association will send two players — Achuta Rao and P. Vijay Kumar, who is currently playing for Deccan Chargers in the IPL — to England for training under former England fast bowler Mike Hendrick in Derbyshire, according to V. Chamundeswaranath, ACA secretary.
The secretary also said that three players — Prabhu Kiran, Shiva Kumar and Samir Ali Khan — would be sent to Brisbane for a long-term training programme.
Meanwhile, the ACA has decided to name one of the gates at the Vizag ACA stadium after M. S. K. Prasad, the first player from Andhra to play in Test matches.
He said that former India captain Purnima Rau would monitor all the coaching camps in the 13 districts where women cricketers were also being trained.
“We have made it mandatory to ensure that all the State players from the districts attend the coaching camps in their own districts,” he said.
The other major decision taken was to ensure that all selection committees would comprise only of ex-Ranji players.
