GURGAON: Bangalore’s Abhishek Jha won the LG ITC Classic Open amateur golf championship with a total of six-under 282 at the Classic Golf Golf Resort here on Friday.

Jha, who started the final day three shots behind the third-round leader, Saurabh Bahuguna, brought home a three-under 69 in the last round to win by a two-stroke margin.

"I am thrilled to begin the new season on a winning note. I think the hard work during my off-season has paid off," said Jha who had scored similar comeback victories at the LG Golden Green Open and LG RCGC Cup during the last season.

Bahuguna had a poor back nine to finish with a 74 in the fourth round. Pawan Kumar was third on 289 while H.S. Kang, Vikram Rana and Rahul Bajaj shared the fourth place at 290.
