KANNUR: Kannur girls marched into the final of the 25th Kerala State youth basketball championships at the Marygiri Senior Secondary School on Tuesday.

In the semifinals, Kannur crushed Thrissur 53-15 after leading 31-11 at half-time. Neenumol did the bulk of the scoring for the winner with 20 points.

The host will meet defending champion Kollam which defeated Kottayam 36-20 in the other semifinal.

State player R.K. Smruthy did the star turn for the champion side, top scoring with 17 points.

Thrissur entered the boys’ final with a 47-25 victory over Ernakulam and will meet the winner of the Pathanamthitta-Wayanad tie.
