Vishal, Fahd advance

Vishal Mani and Fahd qualified for the semifinals of the Tamil Nadu State-ranking eight-ball pool tournament on Sunday. While Vishal defeated P. Vijayakumar 7-3 in the quarterfinals, Fahd defeated Bhuvaneshwaran 7-6.

The results: Quarterfinals: Siddharth Rao (MCC) bt Brijesh Vangala (Q Trickz) 7-3; Fahd (GJSR) bt Bhuvaneshwaran (TNBSA) 7-6; Vishal Mani (TNBSA) bt P. Vijayakumar (TNBSA) 7-3.

Krishna Sai shines

R. Krishna Sai’s unbeaten 80 paved the way for Thiruvallur’s 117-run victory over Vellore in the TNCA under-14 inter-district cricket tournament on Sunday.

The scores: Thiruvallur 247 for six in 50 overs (S. Santhosh Kumar 37, M. Santhosh Pandian 54, R. Krishna Sai 80 n.o., J. Naveen three for 50) bt Vellore 130 in 41.3 overs (A. Prakash Nathan 61, Venkata Krishna Prasath three for 26, V. Hemanth Ram three for 27). Thiruvallur and Vellore have qualified . .

At Tuticorin: Kancheepuram 414 for six in 50 overs (Nidhish S. Rajagopal 129, Y.K. Sudharshan 61, R.S. Mokithariharan 58, S. Arun 51, G.A. Shravan 45 n.o.) bt Tiruvannamalai 52 in 31.5 overs (M. Nithish Bharath five for 10, including a hat-trick). Kancheepuram qualifies .

Chairman’s Trophy
