KOCHI: Sacred Heart HSS, riding on a 93-run opening stand between N. Arjun (66 n.o.) and Abdul Safar (35), defeated Kunjattukara HGP (Edathala) by 42 runs and entered the semifinal of the first Century all-Kerala schools cricket tournament at the St. Albert’s College Ground, Kaloor, on Wednesday.

In another match, Edapally Government HSS beat Perumbavur’s Jayakeralam HSS by 30 runs and entered the quarterfinal.

The scores: Quarterfinals: Scared Heart HSS, Thevara 151 for three in 20 overs (N. Arjun 66 n.o., Abdul Safar 35) bt Kunjattukara HGP, Edathala 109 for nine in 20 overs (Akshay Das four for 16).

Government HSS, North Paravur 94 for nine in 20 overs (Jithin Gopi 31, Libin three for 20) lost to SRK Gurukula Mandiram, Thrissur 96 for five in 15.2 overs (Arun Pushpan 34 n.o.).

Pre-quarterfinal: Government HSS, Edapally 153 for nine in 20 overs (Rajkumar 30, Ajeesh Thampi three for 29) bt JKHSS, Perumbavoor 123 for seven in 20 overs (G. Jain 40 n.o.).
