Apeksha Nayak, the top seed, put it across Archana Pai in the girls’ under-15 final of the W. Suresh Kumar memorial AISS global 3-star badminton ranking tournament in Bangalore on Tuesday.

Apeksha defeat the second-seeded Archana in three games.

Tejas Sanjay Kallolkar and Drithi Yatheesh clinched the boys’ and girls’ titles in the under-13 category.

The results: Finals: Boys: Under-13: Tejas Sanjay Kallolkar bt Kartik Vyakaranam 21-16, 21-19.

Girls: Under-13: Drithi Yatheesh bt Shivani Pathi 23-21, 21-16.

Under-15: Apeksha Nayak bt Archana Pai 16-21, 21-9, 21-12.

Sendil nets

three in a row

Two matches in the BDFA ‘C’ division football league ended with both teams winning by an identical 5-1 margin at Bangalore on Tuesday.

While Sendil hogged the limelight in ITC’s 5-1 verdict over Bharath Matha, both Akash and Johnson netted two goals each in Bangalore Reds identical 5-1 win over Bangalore Wanderers.

Sandesh and Amarnath got the first half goals for ITC before Sendil slotted three in a row in the second session, all the goals coming after Ravi had secured the lead for Bharath Matha in the 14th minute.

In the other match, Akash (fifth, 37th) and Johnson (10th, 11th) gave Reds a wonderful start and a comfortable 4-0 lead before Jude pulled one back for the Wanderers. Rahul, however, made it 5-1 with a late goal for Reds.
