The opening match of the I-League’s new season failed to stick to the scheduled time for kick-off owning to an organisational error.

The match was delayed by a good 24 minutes as the mandatory requirement of two properly equipped ambulances at the venue was not met.

With player safety being treated as top priority by the All India Football Federation, the match officials had to hold up the kick-off till the second ambulance arrived and was parked at its designated spot.
