PALAKKAD: Central Zone’s M.S. Akhil with a fine all-round performance (72 n.o. and five for 33), M. Arjun (98) and Nihal Unni (93 in the second innings) along with South Zone leg-spinner Ajumon Paul (five for 38) hogged the limelight in the Kerala State under-19 inter-zone cricket three-day match here on Monday.

The match, hampered by rain on the final day, ended in a draw but Central gained three points for its first innings lead.

Central Zone (KCA ‘B’) 306 in 83.1 overs (Nihal Unni 40, M. Arjun 98, M.S. Akhil 72 n.o., Rohit Rajaneesh 30, Ajumon Paul five for 38) and 200 in 67.5 overs (Nihal Unni 93, M. Arjun 32, J.R. Sreeraj four for 27) drew with South (KCA ‘A’) 149 in 45.6 overs (J. Monish 37, Ratheesh 30, M.S. Akhil five for 33, Jithin Ramachandran four for 23) & seven for two in 3 overs.
