Indian bowlers Akaash Ashok Kumar and Shabbir Dhankot qualified for the Masters round at the sixth Commonwealth tenpin bowling championship in Auckland on Friday. For the first time, two Indian men have sealed a top-12 spot required to make the cut. With a total pinfall of 4918 in 24 games (at an average of 204.91), Akaash finished 10th overall, while Shabbir improved his overnight position by one place to finish 12th (4690, 24). However, in the women’s category, Prathima Hegde and Aishwarya Rao failed to progress, narrowly missing out at 14th and 15th places respectively.
