PALAKKAD: Leg-spinner Ajumon Paul took five wickets for 44 runs as South Zone crushed North by eight wickets on the second day of their three-day match in the Kerala State under-19 inter-zone cricket championship here on Thursday.

South meets KCA XI in the next match which begins on September 27.

The scores: North Zone (KCA ‘C’) 87 & 193 in 56 overs (Basil Bin 50, M.K. Akshaya 50, Ajumon Paul five for 44, Sooraj three for 32) lost to South Zone (KCA ‘A’) 248 in 78 overs (Jackson Cleetus 93, Sreeraj 42, M. Irshad five for 78) & 33 for two in 6.1 overs.
