PUNE: Ajit Patil won the 42kg freestyle wrestling gold. The Kolhapur lad grappled with three rivals in quick succession for the title at the Shiv Chhatrapti sports complex here on Tuesday.

England’s Jack Longthorne then stepped forward and Patil tamed him 13-0. Canada’s Jonathan Babulall’s misery ended when the Indian was declared winner by a fall in round one.
