AGORC came from behind to beat Southern Railway 3-1 in a St. Joseph's-CFA senior division league encounter here on Wednesday.
Southern Railway got off the blocks in the 29th minute when Rajesh slammed in a powerful free-kick. AGORC goalkeeper S. Alexander could only watch the ball whizz past him.
AGORC had its chances in the first half but failed to capitalise on them. First a good pass into the box was squandered by striker P. Muthu.
This was followed by a cross from the right flank which was volleyed over the crossbar by N.R. Vinod Kumar.
Southern Railway threatened to attack with P.C. Raju angling in a fine shot. However, the ball was parried away by the AGORC custodian.
After the interval, AGORC scored twice in the space of three minutes. The first of those came in the 55th minute through D. Edison who headed a corner with remarkable grace.
Mervin found the goal in the 58th minute after Southern Railway keeper Shibin Raj fumbled a cross. Ten minutes later, Muthu had a solo run from the midfield and shot a left-footer to seal the game.
D. Edison of AGORC was named man of the match.
