Karachi: Following in the footsteps of Mohammad Yousuf, experienced allrounder Abdul Razzaq on Sunday claimed he had been released by the Indian cricket League (ICL) and is now available to play for Pakistan.
Razzaq confirmed that he was among the 50 overseas and Indian players released last week by the unofficial league. The ICL said some of these players had themselves asked to be released from their contracts.
“I was among the players who had asked to be released and they have now ended my contracts without any loose ends,” Razzaq said.
He said it was now up to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to decide how to deal with the ICL players. “I am available and I have also asked the ICL to send me in writing that they have released me so that I can submit it to the board,” he said. — PTI
