On the posture maintained by human rights activists regarding the alleged atrocities committed by the armed forces, Archana Mehta (May 22), in her letter, quite correctly says that at times their argument does not hold good, as in the case of the Pakistan terrorist Ajmal ‘Kasab.’

Far more attention is being given to him than to those who sacrificed their lives so that others may live. As a society we would have failed in our responsibility towards those who laid down their lives if we do not ensure that justice is done in the 26/11 case. Articles bemoaning the atrocities committed by our law and order agencies need to look at the picture in its entirety. Let us not summarily dismiss the good work done by our overworked soldiers in our haste to jump on the bandwagon of those who are aligned with the alleged “victims of atrocities.”
