The camps for the war-displaced in Sri Lanka opened on Tuesday morning and not on Wednesday as mentioned in a report, “War-displaced camps thrown open,” (International, December 2, 2009). The second paragraph of a report “Supreme Court’s ‘no’ to U.P. government” (December 2, 2009) incorrectly mentioned December 6 as birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. It should have been his death anniversary. The same correction appeared in this column recently (November 17, 2009). China would have to cut its carbon intensity by 11-15 per cent in the five-year periods between 2010 and 2020 and not as 2010 and 2010 mentioned in the eighth paragraph of a report “China’s emission reduction target stirs debate (International, December 2, 2009). The name of the West Bengal Home Secretary is Ardhendu Sen and not Ardhendu Chowdhury as mentioned in the caption of the photograph that accompanied the report, “Central team meets West Bengal officials” (December 2, 2009).
