* * The heading of a report (North India and Kolkata editions, March 3, 2010) was “Concern over delay in mass nesting of Oilve Ridley turtles”. It's “Olive Ridley” ( Lepidochelys olivacea ).
* * An item “World Peace” (“This Day That Age — The Hindu dated March 3, 1960”, March 3, 2010) mentioned Mr. Khruschev to be the Prime Minister of Russia. He was the Prime Minister of the (then) Soviet Union.
* * The first paragraph of a squash report “Seven Indians progress to next round” (“Sport”, March 3, 2010) was “Seven Indians — five men and four women — advanced to the second qualifying round of the PSA and WISPA events at the Chennai Open squash championships ....” It should have said “five men and two women”.
* * The Vijay Hazare Trophy semi-final cricket report “Abhinav Mukund stars for TN” (“Sport”, February 28, 2010) mentioned that Tamil Nadu players Abhinav Mukund and S. Badrinath put on 99 for the third wicket. It should have read “second wicket”. The number three batsman in the Madhya Pradesh batting order was Monish Mishra, and not M. Sharma as mentioned in the report.
