In "Musharraf turns to China" ("Op-Ed, June 12, 2006), the report said that President Musharraf and Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai did not meet when the latter came to Pakistan. Nirupama Subramanian clarifies that they did meet and that the paragraph should have been as follows: "The Shanghai conclave will also provide an opportunity for the Pakistan leader to meet President Hamid Karzai. The Afghan leader visited Pakistan earlier this year in an atmosphere marred by mutual accusations over the escalating conflict on Afghanistan's southern borders."
