A sentence in the twelfth paragraph of an article “Obama wonder and Bush blunder” (Op-Ed, November 11, 2008) was “Osama bin Laden committed outrageous terrorism on the WTO building and he was considered to be among the Taliban.” It should have been the World Trade Centre (WTC) building or the Twin Towers.
The column “Past & Present” (The Hindu-Magazine, November 9, 2008, page 3), and titled “The impurity of cultures”, incorrectly mentioned S.W.R.D. Bandarnaike to be the President of Sri Lanka. Solomon West Ridgeway Dias Bandaranaike (January 8, 1899 – September 26, 1959), who was assassinated, was the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka (April 12, 1956 – September 26, 1959).
