In a report “Clinics urged to inform authorities about MTP” (Puducherry, November 19, 2007, page 3), the expansion of FOGSI should have been The Federation of Obstetric & Gynaecological Societies of India, and not the Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecologic Societies of India as was published. (The FOGSI was formed in 1936 when the Obstetric & Gynaecological Societies of Bombay, Madras, Bengal, Ahmedabad and Punjab resolved to amalgamate themselves into the Federation. The Federation has 192 societies with 21,261 members across India. Its official journal The Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology of India is published bi-monthly.)
A report “EC team to visit Himachal” (North India, November 17, 2007, page 7) incorrectly gave the names of the Election Commissioner Navin B. Chawla as Naveen Chawla and the Election Commission Secretary K.F. Wilfred as K.F. Wilfed.
A sentence in a report “Madurai-Dindigul track doubling to be over by March-end: Velu” (Tamil Nadu editions, November 1, 2007, page 8) was: “The 272-km Villupuram-Madurai-Tuticorin section was the ‘lifeline’ of the southern districts ….” It should have been “498-km”.
