The former Chief Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda has said that he and other leaders were touring the State to assess the feelings of party workers before elections. Speaking to presspersons here on Saturday, he said, “The names of candidates contesting the next Assembly elections would be announced soon.”

Mr. Gowda said the party would win at least 130 Assembly seats. He said he would tour at least 10 districts, between Mandya and Udupi, to strengthen the party.

The BJP government would complete its term and Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar will present a pro-people budget in February,” he said.

The BJP will seek support from people based on programmes undertaken to develop the State in the past four-and-a-half years, he said.
