Rainfall

RAINFALL: Rain/snow has occurred at most places over Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand. Rain/thundershower have occurred at most places over Haryana, Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh, at many places over west Rajasthan, at a few places over east Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh. The chief amounts of precipitation in cm are: HARYANA: Delhi Ridge, Lodhi Road and Safdarjung 5 each, Ayanagar, Narnaul and Palam 3 each, Karnal 2 and Chandigarh, Hissar and Bhiwani 1 each, HIMACHAL PRADESH: Kalpa 5, Bhuntar, Dharamshala and Solan 3 each, Manali, Nahan and Shimla 2 each and Sundernagar 1,  JAMMU AND KASHMIR:  Banihal 6, Batote 5, Bhaderwah, Quazigung and Kupwara 3 each, Katra and Pahalgam 2 each and Jammu, Kukarnag and Srinagar 1 each, PUNJAB: Patiala 1, EAST RAJASTHAN: Jaipur and Pilani 1 each, WEST RAJASTHAN: Jodhpur, Jaisalmer and Sriganganagar 1 each, EAST UTTAR PRADESH: Lucknow 4, Fursatganj 3 and Bahraich 2, WEST UTTAR PRADESH: Hindan and Meerut 4 each, Jhansi 3, Sarsawa 2 and Bareilly 1 and UTTARAKHAND: Tehri 6, Dehradun 4, and Nainital, Pithoragarh and Pantnagar 1 each.

MINIIMUM TEMPERATURES : The minimum temperatures fell in west Rajasthan, rose appreciably in east Uttar Pradesh, rose in Uttarakhand and changed little elsewhere. They were markedly above normal in Haryana, Punjab, east Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, appreciably above normal in Jammu and Kashmir and west Rajasthan and above normal in rest of the region. The lowest minimum temperature in the plains was 08.0ºC recorded at Sikar  (Rajasthan).       

FORECAST VALID UNTIL THE MORNING OF 07th FEBRUARY 2013: Rain/snow would occur at many places over Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand during the next 24 hours and decrease thereafter. Rain/thundershowers would occur at many places over Haryana, Delhi, Punjab, north Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh during the next 24 hours and decrease thereafter.  Rain/thundershowers would occur at one or two places over south Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh during next 48 hours and mainly dry weather thereafter.

WARNING: Heavy to very heavy snowfall may occur at one or two places over Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand during the next 24 hours. Thunder squalls accompanied with hails may also occur at one or two places over  Haryana, Delhi, Punjab, north Rajasthan, and west Uttar Pradesh  during the next 24 hours.

FORECAST FOR DELHI AND NEIGHBOURHOOD VALID UNTIL THE MORNING OF 07th FEBRUARY 2013:  Generally cloudy sky. Rain/thunderstorm would occur.  Thunder squalls accompanied with hail could occur at one or two places.
