Rain and snow

Cold wave conditions have abated from Haryana, Punjab and north Rajasthan.

RAINFALL: Rain/snow has occurred at a few places over Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh. Weather was dry over the rest of the region. The chief amounts of precipitation in cm are: JAMMU AND KASHMIR; Pahalgam and Kupwara 1 each.

MINIMUM TEMPERATURE: The minimum temperatures rose in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir and west Rajasthan and changed little elsewhere. They were below normal in west Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest minimum temperature in the plains was 04.5ºC recorded at Bhatinda (Punjab).

FORECAST VALID UNTIL THE MORNING OF 21st FEBRUARY: Rain/snow would occur at many places over  Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at a few places over Uttarakhand. Weather will be mainly dry over the rest of the region.

HAVY RAIN/SNOWFALL WARNING: Heavy rain/snow would occur at one or two places over Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir on 20th and 21st.

FORECAST FOR DELHI AND NEIGHBOURHOOD VALID UNTIL THE MORNING OF 21st FEBRUARY 2012: Mainly clear sky likely to become partly cloudy towards night. Mist in the morning.
