Cold wave prevails

Cold wave to severe cold wave conditions are prevailing over some parts of Uttar Pradesh, Cold day conditions are prevailing over many parts of west Uttar Pradesh and isolated pockets of Haryana, Punjab and east Uttar Pradesh. These are likely to abate during next 24 hours.

RAINFALL : Weather was dry over the region.

MINIMUM: The minimum temperatures rose appreciably in west Rajasthan, rose in Haryana, east Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere. They were appreciably below normal in Uttar Pradesh, appreciably above normal in west Rajasthan and normal in rest of the region. The lowest minimum temperature in the plains was 02.0ºC recorded at Nazibabad (Uttar Pradesh).

FORECAST VALID UNTIL THE MORNING OF 15th January 2011: Rain/snow could occur at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Weather will be mainly dry in rest of the region. After 24 hours rain/snow would occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at a few places in Uttarakhand. Rain/thundershowers may occur at a few places in Haryana and Punjab and at isolated places in Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh. Weather will be mainly dry in rest of the region.
