Water level in Idukki reservoir, the State’s biggest hydel reservoir, reached 2,313.06 feet on Monday, higher than that on the same day last year by 14.45 feet, the Central Water Commission said in a press release here on Tuesday.

In the hydel reservoir at Idamalayar also, the water level was higher than that on the same day last year. It reached 441.34 feet on Monday, 19 ft higher than that on the same day last year.

In the irrigation reservoir at Kallada in Kollam district, however, the water level of 295.37 feet recorded on Monday was lower than that on the same day last year by 12.04 feet.

The Kallada reservoir had virtually touched the rock bottom during the summer and it is beginning to fill up, thanks to good rainfall during the monsoon so far.
