Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan on Saturday accepted the resignation of Minister for Animal Husbandry Pinipe Viswaroop with immediate effect.
A press communiqué from Raj Bhavan said that on the advice of the Chief Minister, the Governor has accepted the resignation of Mr. Viswaroop. The portfolio would now be looked after by the Chief Minister till alternative arrangements are made. Although over a dozen resignation letters of Seemandhra Ministers are pending with the Chief Minister, Mr. Viswaroop had met the Governor on Thursday and urged him to accept his papers protesting bifurcation of the State. He became the first Seemandhra Minister to resign for the cause of united Andhra Pradesh after the CWC decision on July 30 in favour of bifurcation.
Mr. Viswaroop is likely to join the YSRC and pointed out that he was moved by the agitation in Seemandhra for a united State.
