Tiruvarur police on Thursday arrested two persons in connection with house demolition case against V. Dhivaharan, brother of Sasikala, former aide of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, in Needamangalam taluk of Tiruvarur district.

According to Xavier Dhanraj, Superintendent of police, the arrested persons are Veerasivashankaran (40), owner of the bulldozer that was used to demolish the house of Kasthuri, wife of Balasubramanian of Rishiyur village in Needamangalam taluk and Sakthi (23), driver of the vehicle. The bulldozer has also been seized.

Veerashivashankaran belongs to Orathur village in Needamangalam taluk while Sakthi hails from Melapoovanur village. The two were produced at the house of Sellpandi, Magistrate, Needamangalam who remanded them to police custody. They were taken to Tiruchi Central Prison.

The SP said that a First Information Report (FIR) was been filed by Needamangalam police on Wednesday. The other accused are Krishna Menon, panchayat president of Rishiyur, Sivasankaran, Ganesan, Vaidhyanathan and Gunasekaran.Police have formed nine teams to nab Dhivaharan and others. They continued their search for Dhivaharan, who is absconding.

The search is on since Saturday.
