Assembly panel asks TTD to furnish details of assets on website
Andhra Pradesh Legislative Committee on Assurances has asked the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) to furnish the details of its assets on its official website, to avoid litigations pertaining to its landholdings and allegations of graft.
The panel, headed by its Chairman Rowthu Suryaprakash Rao, closeted with the TTD officials at a review meeting here on Tuesday, where the suggestion was made to stay clear of controversies that the TTD occasionally lands into. The TTD has landed properties across the country, apart from chunks of land coming into its fold in the form of donations, and the suggestion was apparently meant to remove the veil of ambiguity over the lands.
Addressing the media later, Mr. Rao said the Committee reviewed the implementation status of various assurances given by Ministers in the House in reply to queries raised by the legislators. He said the panel had indicated to the TTD to prepare a comprehensive report on its landed properties to be submitted in the next meeting.
Panel members A. Suresh, K.V. Satyanarayana Reddy, Seetha Dayakar Reddy, G. Aravind Reddy, T. Vijay Kumar, V. Srinivasa Rao, Ch. Ramakotaiah, TTD Executive Officer L.V. Subrahmanyam, Joint Executive Officers K.S. Sreenivasa Raju (Tirumala) and P. Venkatrami Reddy (Tirupati) took part in the meeting.
