Dharmadhikari of Dharmastala D. Veerendra Heggade said here on Thursday that the SDM Dharmothana Trust had restored 27 temples that were in dilapidated condition in Hassan district.

The trust had taken up restoration of 170 temples in the State and work on 153 of them had been completed, he said. He was speaking at a religious programme held to mark the installation of idols in the Hallada Rameshwara temple on the SDM Ayurveda Hospital premises in the city. The temple was restored by the trust. Mr. Heggade said 40 per cent of the restoration cost was borne by the State government, another 40 per cent by the trust and the rest by the local people.
